Amy Moy Obituary

Amy Siu Moy (aka Moy Chiang Siu Noon) was born on July 14, 1929 in Chong
Wai village, Toyshan district of Guangdong, China, the eldest daughter
of Chiang Shu Chung (father) and Chiang Mark Yuet Heung (mother).

After the end of World War II, she met Gwok Dan Moy (aka Moy Fee Ming)
who returned to China from the United States. They later married in Hong
Kong on February, 1949 and had a son (Paul). Gwok returned to the United
States and was drafted into the US Army, serving until his honorable
discharge in 1953.

She emigrated with her son to the United States on Christmas Day, 1953;
became a housewife with another son (Freeman) and two daughters (Susan and
Nancy), nuturing all to be university graduates. She was also a laundry
business owner and factory worker.

She studied for and obtained US citizenship in November of 1962. That was
instrumental in sponsoring her father, mother, brother and sisters for US
permanent residency that also led to her nephews' and nieces' immigration.
All have been blessed by her and are her extended family.

Although she suffered a stroke late in life, she remained stable and was
supported by her family. Earlier this year, she overcame pneumonia but not
from the stress it inflicts upon the elderly. She passed away in peace on
Friday, March 22, 2024 at Evanston Hospital's Residential Hospice. She was
94.

Amy is survived by all her children and grand children Harrison and Leland
(Paul and Yi Moy), and Tyler (Nancy and Dave Markley). She is also survived
by a sister (Eng Chiang Kum Noon) and brother (Chiang Chi Sing). She was
preceded in death by her husband in 2013, and a sister (Chen Chiang Tiu
Noon) in 2009.
