Tim Moy Obituary

梅添祥 Tim Moy
October 25, 1942 to August 2, 2022

Tim was born in Taishan, GuangDong province of China on October 25, 1942.  Tim was the beloved and youngest of eight children born to 梅友盈 Moy Yue Jing and 曹悦心 Cho Yuet-Sum.  Dedicated husband to his devoted wife Soo Ling Moy, father of his 5 loving children May, Lim, Yim, Ting and Raymond, and respected grandfather to Nikki, Leon, Kevin, Ethan and Michelle.
Tim immigrated to the USA in 1975 with the help of his oldest sister 梅娇姿 Moy Jiaozi.  He brought his wife Soo Ling their children at the time: May, Lim, Yim, and Ting (Raymond born in 1992) to the USA in January, 1981.  Trained in Hong Kong as a professional chef, he took the opportunity to work as the head chef of the South Sea Restaurant in Piqua, Ohio. During this time he trained his wife, Soo personally so she could become his companion chef.  In 1984, Tim took a risk by establishing his own restaurant in Troy, Ohio under his own name “Tim Moy’s Chinese Restaurant'', while having a large family to support.   In time his restaurant became a local favorite and was well known throughout Miami County.  As the saying goes “good business leads to good fortune”, with the help of his children, Tim expanded his restaurant to double its size.  With much hard work from the entire family, especially Tim’s wife, Soo and his oldest Son, Lim being the main pillars to help expand their family restaurant business.
As a business owner and a US Citizen, Tim and Soo were able to file immigration papers for both their respective siblings that were in China.  With both being so dedicated, caring and expressing great love for their siblings and relatives, they were able to help over 25 family members immigrate to the USA and other countries.  Because of his sincerity and genuine love for his family, relatives and friends, Tim was well respected and will be remembered by the future generations to come as long as his lifelong contributions are shared by all those he helped and touched along the way. Due to the kindness of Tim, many families were able to come to America and have better living standards, endless opportunities for the older, current and future generations to pursue their dreams. Tim leaves a great impact on his family and friends through his work ethics, selflessness, generosity, sincerity and positive contributions to their lives.
