Ernie R. Savary

Ernie R. Savary, 66, was born December 23, 1953 and passed away on January 27, 2020: beloved son of the late James and the late Clara (nee Keiper); loving brother of Marlene, Geraldine, James, Connie, Joseph, late Philip and the late Amelia Savary; cherished friend of Margaret and Gabriella Marasco. Ernie was a truck driver with the City of Chicago Department of Aviation at O’Hare Airport. He was an avid reader and appreciated reading hundreds of books. Ernie also relished taking drives to Wisconsin to grab some pie from Apple Holler and enjoyed Wisconsin attractions. He was sincere, selfless, a gentleman, as well as, a great friend. He always tried to get a laugh out of everyone. Ernie was a manager of a newspaper office on 31st & Wallace St. for many years and taught many boys and girls how to deliver the daily newspaper. A long time resident of the Bridgeport community, he made many friends working at Bridgeport Video. Even though he procrastinated and never flew on a airplane, He Saved the Best Flight for Last...Flying high into the sky to Heaven!  Memorial Visitation Saturday, February 8th from 12 Noon until 3:00 p.m. at Dalcamo Funeral Home 470 W. 26th Street.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital are appreciated.
