Dixon Chin; age 75, of Downers Grove. Born in Detroit, Mi. beloved husband of Cynthia (nee Quan) for 48 years; Loving father of Diana (Roger Mahor), the late Michelle and Jason (Alyssa Fantin); cherished grandfather of Mason, Elena, Taylor and Greyson; adored brother of Freida (Robert Boudreau), Jenny and Ben (Judy).
Dixon served in the US Army National Guard, the 1st Battalion 225th Infantry Division. His 50+ year teaching career (Farwell Middle School, Proviso High Schools, Morton College and many others.) was supplemented with employment in other areas of interest. He assisted in the management of several Chinese Restaurants owned by the family. He was also a US Customs Agent in Detroit for 10+ years and a dedicated employee of Carson Pirie Scott & Co, and National Tire Battery (NTB).
Dixon enjoyed cars, wrestling and watching sports (Chicago Bulls and Bears). He especially loved spending time with family and friends, and was very proud of his grandchildren.
Wake will be held Friday, May 26 from 3-8pm at Dalcamo Funeral Home (470 W 26th St, Chicago, IL 60616). Funeral will be held on Saturday, May 27 from 9-10:30am at DalcamoFuneral Home (470 W 26th St, Chicago, IL 60616). Burial will be held on Saturday, May 27 at Mount Auburn Cemetery (4101 S Oak Park Ave, Stickney, IL 60402).
