Wayne Schmidt Wayne, an avid outdoorsman, passed peacefully while asleep at home on January the 15th. A numismatist in his youth, he would later rekindle this love in retirement. Wayne was a lifelong White Sox fan whose love for the team could only be described as eternally optimistic. A voracious reader, Wayne would devour any book in front of him. His passion for the written word lives on through his children and grandchildren. Beloved husband of Terri nee Fontaine; loving father of Kurt (Jeanette) and Lisa; cherished grandfather of Attiana, Scarlett, Ashton, and Wyatt; devoted son of the late Harry and Rose; dear brother of Nancy, Lynn, and Laura; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.
