Obituary

Salvatore E Mangano; U.S. Army Veteran: beloved son of the late Salvatore and the late Maria Mangano; loving brother of the late Joe (late Jean) Mangano, late Nancy (late Otto) Beck and the late Ray (Cindy) Mangano; cherished uncle of Salvatore (Cheryl), Edward (Neva), Nancy (Jay), Carol (Tim), Marie (Bruce), Lisa (Mark) and the late Mary Kay (Brad): adored cousin and great-uncle of many; caring friend and former husband of Janette Mangano. Sal had a wide range of interests that included a love of the arts, travel, fine food, and cars. He traveled to Sicily to visit family and friends each summer, enjoying time there and throughout Europe. Retirement found him volunteering at the Art Institute of Chicago and enjoying shows at the Lyric Opera. Sal always enjoyed sharing a meal with friends and family and discussing current topics or a show he'd recently seen. Visitation Friday, October 28th from 9 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. at St. Jerome Croatian Catholic Church. Entombment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
