IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sally
Wong
October 8, 1920 – February 10, 2023
Sally Wong, 102, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023. Sally will be remembered as a deeply loving mother/grandmother/great grandmother and caring neighbor/friend and to the many people she encountered over the years. Sally came to America and worked tirelessly at Florsheim before transitioning and then worked at her and husband's hand laundry in the northwest side of Chicago for a number of years. After her retirement, she loved cooking for everyone in her kitchen (cooking for family, friends and neighbors) and she and grandpa Wing always enjoyed hosting family gatherings. Her infectious smile would always light up a room when she came in and she was always willing to speak to anyone in either Chinese or in English. She loved crocheting, knitting, and going on car rides.
Sally is the beloved wife of the late Wing Yut Wong and is survived by her beloved children William (Lydia) Wong; Phillip Wong; Elaine (Jun) Wong; and Helen (Rich) Miller. In addition to leaving behind her beloved children, she is the grandmother to Alden (Chun) Wong; Emmet (Carol) Wong; Sharon (Bob) Guidarelli; Lesa (Greg) Zonsius; Leslie (Todd) Prohaska; Shanlee Wong; Michelle (Simon) Jeffreys; and Scott (Megan) Miller. In addition, she leaves behind many great grandchildren. All who came to know of Sally will miss her dearly.
Visitation is on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 9am to 11am at Dalcamo Funeral Home. The interment will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery immediately after the visitation.
