Rita Villarreal, 52 of Chicago, Illinois passes away peacefully on December 11. 2025 in her beloved hometown after a courageous battle with cancer that began in 2019.
Born on August 23, 1973, in Chicago, Rita was a lifelong resident who took great pride in serving her city. She dedicated her career to public service as an electrician for the City of Chicago at O'Hare International Airport (ORD). A proud and active member of Electrical Workers Local 134 of Chicago, Rita was respected by colleagues for her dedication and strong work ethic.
Rita's generous spirit and radiant smile touched everyone she encountered. Her warmth and sincerity made lasting impressions, and she gave freely of herself through acts of kindness and compassion.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Felise and Savannah; her partner Tarold Durham; her mother Esther (nee Galvan). She also leaves behind her siblings; Steve Galvan and his wife Kim; Raymond and Rosemarie (Rocco). Rita was a cherished aunt to Nicholas (Kendra), Matthew, Steven, Andrew and Antonino, as well as a beloved great-aunt to numerous great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Porfirio Villarreal.
Visitation December 18, 2025, from 3:00pm-8:00pm at Dalcamo Funeral Home, Funeral Friday December 19, 2025 at 9:45am from the Funeral Home to St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish/St. Barbara Church at 2859 S. Throop Street for a mass at 10:30am. Cremation Oak Ridge Cemetery
Her strength and love remain an enduring legacy. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
