IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Peter Guido
Jr
March 11, 1937 – July 12, 2025
Peter Guido, Jr., age 88, of Elburn, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025. Born and raised in Chicago, Peter lived a full and meaningful life, marked by quiet strength, deep curiosity, and a generous heart. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, remembered fondly for his unique charm and subtle wit.
Peter proudly served his country as a United States Marine, a role he held with honor and humility. That sense of discipline and duty remained with him throughout his life, but it was his softer qualities—his kindness, thoughtfulness, and dry sense of humor—that left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
A man of many interests, Peter had a passion for collecting that spanned decades. He believed that every object had a story to tell, and he took great joy in preserving those stories. His home was filled with carefully curated treasures: Lionel trains, Coca-Cola memorabilia, Tiffany-style lamps, BB guns, pocket knives, and antique Schwinn bicycles, among other fascinating items. Each piece reflected not only his appreciation for history, but his love for beauty, craftsmanship, and nostalgia.
Peter's quiet nature was balanced by a deep generosity. He was the kind of person who gave without asking for recognition, who listened more than he spoke, and who made people feel special in his presence. His family and friends were fortunate to share in his warmth, his wisdom, and his unwavering loyalty.
