Kay Helen Foley (nee Kobberdahl) passed away on February 9, 2023, in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the age of 90 years old. Kay was born on April 23, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Foley, her parents Agnes and Edward Kobberdahl and brother Paul Kobberdahl. She is survived by her sister, Sally (Jim) Hughes. She leaves behind her five children Chris (Jac) Coverdale, Patty (Chris) Boehmer, Mary Beth (John) Insalaco, Phillip (Kimberly) Foley, and John Foley. She was Nana to thirteen beautiful grandchildren Brigitte and Luke Coverdale, Jack and Kevin Lipa, Anna and Christian Boehmer, Rebecca (Dylan) D'Urso, Alex Insalaco, Tausha (Ian) Campbell, Tanner Foley, Ryan (Ashleigh) Foley, Tyler, and Nicholas Foley. She is great grandmother to Knox Foley. Nana will be forever remembered as a wonderful seamstress who used her talents throughout her life to make clothing and costumes for her kids and grandkids, but her talents didn't stop there. Nana also donated her time to St. Rita Grammar School Girl Scouts and Mothers Club, St. Rita High School Ritanettes, St. Jerome Grammar School, St. Ignatius College Prep and Mount Carmel High School making uniforms, costumes, and raffle gifts. Nana was the biggest fan and cheerleader at her children's and grandchildren's events, waving and screaming louder than anyone in the stands. In her later years she moved to Arizona to enjoy her retirement with Papa. While living in her retirement community, she joined the Hacienda Hotties, Red Hat Ladies and was the Co-founder of the Bag and Boob Babes. As most of you know from receiving one, she was an avid card maker. We will all miss this amazingly talented lady! A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 18, 2023 at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel (5000 West 50th &, MN-100, Edina, MN 55436) at 12pm with visitation 1 hour prior. A Roman Catholic Mass will be held in Chicago on Tuesday February 21, 2023 at St Jerome Croatian Church (2823 South Princeton Ave) at 10am with visitation 1 hour prior. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nana's honor to Jones Harrison Senior Living (non for profit) located at 3700 Cedar Lake Ave, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55416.
