John "Anthony" Garrido was born on October 15, 1948 in Chicago, Il. Raised by Augustina Medina Garrido and John Garrido in the Bridgeport area. Served in the US Army July 1969-Nov 1973 as a Private First Class with the 82nd Airborne Division. John served and protected his community for 32 years as a Chicago Police Officer in the 10th district. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and fixing his Grand Prix. He was well known as "Tony" and his crazy antics that we will cherish forever. John leaves behind his cherished three daughters from his union with Zoraida Hernandez. Daughter Rosie Shamhart (Jim Shamhart). Daughter Zoraida Muhammad (Daniel Muhammad). Daughter Jessica Garrido. Grandpa to Zoe, Isaiah, Samaya, Isabella and Malachi. John will be greatly missed as a police officer, friend, father and grandpa.
