Dorothy Kawalerski nee Smith

Lifelong resident of Bridgeport, lifelong member of and contributor to St. Barbara Parish (now St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta). Loving wife of the late Leon (Lefty); beloved daughter of the late Ben and Stella (Mackowiak) Smith; dear sister of the late Josephine (John) Czarnecki, the late George (Anna Mae Martin), the late Theresa (Patrick) Powers and the late Ben G. (Dolly) Smith. While she had no children, she had many nieces and nephews and their extended families who loved her dearly: Jackie, David, Donna, Laurie, Marcia, Karen, Doris, Patricia, Bridget, Daniel, Kathleen, Ben Joseph, the late Gail, the late Mary, and the late Matthew. She was an active member of the St. Barbara Ladies Guild, St. Barbara Altar and Rosary Sodality and the St. Barbara funeral choir. Dorothy retired from First National Bank of Chicago (now Chase) after a long career. Our family is grateful for the Staff of Villa Scalabrini who cared for her so well the last 12 years. Visitation Monday, September 18, 2023 from 3 PM to 8 PM at the Dalcamo Funeral Home 470 West 26th Street. Funeral Tuesday 9:15 AM from the Funeral Home to St. Barbara Church for Mass at 10 AM.
