Ann Marie Negrette (née Garcia), 66, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on December 22, 2025. Born on January 13, 1959, in Chicago, Ann spent her life rooted in the city she called home. Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Rosita Garcia; her husband, John Negrette; and her eldest son, Jon-Anthony Negrette. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel Garcia and Lawrence Garcia. She is survived by her son, Robert Negrette, and his wife, Jennifer Negrette; her beloved grandchildren, Liam Kennedy, Lyla Negrette, Fiona Negrette, and Felix Negrette; her sisters, Cheryl Ann McGovern and Deborah Brown, with whom she shared a deep bond of love, loyalty, and closeness; her "little brother," Danney Garcia; and her nieces and nephews, Wendy Covich, Andrew Covich, William Covich, Trina Orr, and Angel Garcia. Ann was known for her resilience, her strength, and her deep devotion to her family. She faced life's challenges with determination and a quiet toughness, while still finding moments of warmth, humor, and connection. Her role as a mother and grandmother was central to who she was, and her love for her family was unwavering. She will be remembered for the care she gave, the sacrifices she made, and the lasting impact she leaves on those who knew and loved her. Her presence will continue to be felt through the memories she created and the family she cherished. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dalcamo Funeral Home in Chicago. A visitation and funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Dalcamo Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to The Pink Fund online at www.pinkfund.org.
